With the idea of underlining the importance of environmental care, the culture and union in the Border, the Latin American Foundation for the Arts, a nonprofit organization, presents the third edition of Feipol (International Latina American Poetry Festival.)
On October 4th, 5th and 6th at the McAllen public library, this festival will be taking place. This year, the honor poets are Norm Elia Cantu, academic, laureate poet from Philadelphia from Puerto Rico, Maria Palitachi, speaker, editor and poet from the Dominican Republic and Juan Perez, Mexican-American poet who represents the North American towns.
Special guests are Monica Lucia Gonzalez Martinez from Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Leonardo Nin and Luis Corpus. Our musical guests will be singer – author Renee Goust and the musician Frank Rocha.
The Awarded Young Poet Juan Felipe Herrera on her third edition will be granted to three young poets. From those participants, 110 will be published in an anthology that will be presented at the festival.
Those interested in attend could enjoy art exhibitions, talks from leaders that will encourage the community, will know the voice and feelings of Latin America poets, attend workshops of writing and will have the opportunity of listening to the most important figures of the current literature.
