Many years ago, in 1966 in Mexico City, in the known Condesa neighborhood a small restaurant with a delicious recipe tacos al pastor named El Tizoncito.
After opening more than 20 subsidiaries in Mexico, now this restaurant opens its doors in Mission, Texas with the idea of giving the opportunity of tasting the delicious Mexican cuisine.
As appetizer we recommend guacamole (avocado based dip,) or chicharron (pork rind) with cheese, for stews and soups, tortilla soup, chicken stew, or pozole (traditional stew made with pork.) If you are a cheese fan ask for the quesadilla (tortilla filled with cheese) nortena, Hawaiian or placera.
From the grill the traditional arrachera, bistec, chicken, rib, chop tacos, all of them are delicious! There is a specialties menu which consists in different dishes, Ah! Dorados which are fried taquitos al pastor de trompo (marinated pork) served with cream, cheese and sauce. There also have pozole, tacos de alambre (grilled beef topped with chopped bacon, bell peppers, onions, cheese, salsa and avocados) tacos al pastor with pineapple, nopalazo natural, above a bed of beans, sauce of the house, grated cheese and onion garrison, pineapple and tomato.
The famous Sherezadas are also a dish you have to taste. There is tacos Arabic way such as the Sherezada Tizoncito with alambre de pastor and cheese or the Sherezada Poblana of bistec and rajas (chile strips) with cream. Do not forget the huaraches (masa dough and smashed pinto beans placed in the center, fried) their varieties are placero, arriero, pastor, grilled or vegetarian.
As beverages they have agua de horchata (made of ground rice,) fruit water, sodas, beers, micheladas (beer, lime juice and assorted sauces, spices and peppers,) cafe de olla (Mexican ground coffee, cinnamon, piloncillo,) or chilada (Clamato, English sauce, hot sauce, lemon and pepper.) And as dessert we recommend flan con caramelo (Spanish custard often served with caramel topping) or corn pie.
